Mask Policy

Since March of 2020, it has been extremely important to us – Action Karate – to follow all recommendations provided by the CDC. In doing so, we have kept up with research regarding COVID-19, what is recommended, and what practices to take part in to assure our staff, students, and families are safe.

As you may have noticed while attending classes, masks have no longer been mandatory due to the Pennsylvania mask mandate having been lifted on June 28th. We wanted to take this new change on slowly, which is why there was not an announcement as we felt it was a step in the right direction to leave this up to the discretion of what your families are comfortable with. We have continued to social distance in class, clean/sanitize all high-touch surfaces. In addition, while our staff are all vaccinated – they are still required to wear their masks during classes.

However, we believe the safest course of action is to once again require masks for those under 12 years old. Those over the age of 12 that are vaccinated do not need to wear masks, HOWEVER, we deeply urge everyone to mask up for the safety of those that are not vaccinated.

One of the most difficult things about this is there is no way for us to know who is vaccinated and who is not. Therefore, we strongly urge you to mask up if you are not vaccinated. We all know the term “Honesty in the heart” as it one of the cornerstones of our Student Creed. Please use that honesty in your heart if you are not vaccinated. We want Action Karate Newtown to be a safe place for you and your family and we have made it our goal to be that since March of 2020 and we do not want that to change.

Again, thank you all so much for putting your trust in us. Please understand your safety is our number one priority. Any sudden changes, again, are for the safety of our students and staff. Thank you for hanging with us, trusting us, and being a part of our Action Karate Family.
